You know an owner who is thinking about selling. We handle the rest.

For people who hear it first: owners of businesses that serve the industry, independent reps and agents, retired owners and fellow owners. Introduce the owner of a $2M+ business and our advisors handle the conversation. When a qualified owner signs with us, we pay you. You do not wait for the sale to close.

How it works

3 steps. You do the first one.

01

You tell us about the owner.

The business, where it is, and how you know the owner. It takes 5 minutes on the form below. You do not need to pitch anyone.

02

We handle the approach.

We agree with you how the owner is contacted. You make the introduction and tell the owner we pay you a fee. The owner decides whether to talk, and nothing goes to market without their approval.

03

You are paid when the owner signs.

If the owner qualifies and signs an engagement agreement with us, we pay you a fee. You do not wait for the sale to close. Terms are agreed with you in writing before we contact the owner.

What makes a good introduction

You do not need all 3 to be certain. Tell us what you know.

$2M or more in revenue

A privately held company with at least $2M in annual revenue. If you are not sure of the number, send it anyway and we will tell you.

An owner with a reason to move

Retirement, no successor in the family, burnout, a partner who wants out, or an unsolicited offer they did not know what to do with.

A relationship you can speak to

You know the owner, or you know the business well enough to say why now. Most industries qualify, in the US.

Introduce an owner.

Tell us about the business and how you know the owner. Nik Avendano runs our scout relationships and replies personally, usually the same business day, and confirms within 5 business days whether the introduction qualifies.

  • Everything you send is confidential.
  • We never contact the owner before talking with you.
  • You are paid when a qualified owner signs with us, not at closing.
  • Fee terms are agreed with you in writing.

About you

About the business

By sending this you agree to be contacted about the Vanla Group deal scout program.

Questions scouts ask

Who can be a deal scout?

Owners and principals of businesses that serve the industry, independent reps and agents, the self-employed, and owners who have sold or retired. We do not pay employees of a company that sells to, buys from or advises the owner. If you are a CPA, attorney, wealth advisor or banker, our partner program is built for you instead.

Does the owner need to know I reached out?

Yes. You introduce the owner and tell them Vanla pays you a fee. If you would rather we make the first call, we agree on the approach with you first, and we tell the owner you referred them and that we pay you.

What does the owner pay?

Nothing up front. We are a business broker and M&A advisory firm paid a success fee at closing. If the business does not sell, the owner owes nothing.

When do I get paid?

When the owner you introduced signs an engagement agreement with us, not when the business sells. A sale depends on buyers, lenders and the owner, and none of that is yours to control. Finding the right owner is. The amount and timing are set out in a written agreement with you.

What makes an introduction qualify for the fee?

The company has $2M or more in annual revenue, you introduced the owner or a decision maker, the business is in the US, and the owner was not already working with us or in recent contact with us. If an introduction does not qualify, we tell you up front.

What if the owner is not ready yet?

Most owners are not ready the first time someone asks. We offer a free, confidential valuation conversation and stay in touch. Your introduction stays on record, so if the owner signs with us later, the fee is still yours within the window set in your agreement.
